After 29 years in corporate settings, 25 in the pharmaceutical/biotech healthcare industries, Walt started Development First, LLC in April 2007.  He has capitalized on a wealth of experience in sales, sales management, managed markets account management, marketing, human resources, and leadership development training to help clients improve the performance of people leaders and individual contributors who lead people in matrixed team environments.

Few consultants focused on improving leadership skills have had experience in several capacities as a former client.  Because of Walt’s varied background, he is able to connect well with sales, sales management, general management, and research and development audiences.  As a facilitator, he is able to relate real-world experiences, expecially with healthcare audiences, that allow participants to be able to immediately apply the learning concepts back on the job.  Walt brings that same experience to designing learning events and tools that help managers and individual contributors drive business results.
